I awoke this morning to find all my admins were placed in banned_user.cfg. I can't find any logs on why and apart from that I use sourcebans. None of them were placed in sourcebans.

Has anyone ever experienced something as weird as this before?

lolz everytime I reboot all admins get added to banned_use.cfg

I need help if anyone has any ideas? Ive tried unbanning all admins via hlsw, I obviously cant get back into gave to use console, every reboot the admins are re added to banned cfg

Less than impossibly frustrating it isnt.

No idea how this would be possible (maybe someone edited your .cfg files or filled banned_user.cfg with all your admins' steamIDs and set it to read-only?), but a workaround would be to not execute banned_user.cfg (i.e. remove all instances of exec banned_user.cfg from your config files).

Yeah I tried that, rebooted, went into HLSW because I cant join server, sent sm_unban steamid
reboot, nothing, still banned

Can't you just edit or erase the file? Or at least check the file permissions?

Yes

I disables all banned_user.cfg instances from loading
cleared the file
sm_unban via hlsw
reboot

cannot connect I'm banned.

its got to be still in cache so either hlsw isnt working via console or sm_unban steamid isnt what I am supposed to be using..

Disabling ban user cfg, stoping it from writing to file seems to keep it cleared, I just have to work out now how to clear cache, reboot isnt working
