On a side note, if you're using nano, consider using the -w option to stop it from doing line wrapping. That saves you from getting errors where a long thing that should be one line gets split into two by nano and the program reading the file reads them as separate options and stuff.

I am still not able to connect to my FTP server on the vps. When I tried using FTP, it connects successfully but it didn't show any directories nor files while using SFTP, I can see the everything in the VPS but I can't upload anything. Does anyone have any idea about this?

PS: my vps is using vsftpd only, no any other ftp server program.

If your such a linux newbie, why not run tcadmin or gamecp on the machine to have a web interface to manage your servers?

How did you use sftp? Use same account/pw than in ssh login.

I only tested the different connection type just to experiment with the credentials and stuff. Anyway, I've successfully installed hlds and ftp on my vps. Turns out that I was trying to upload to root directory which I didn't acknowledge that I've blocked when I was following a tutorial on the internet.

Anyway thanks everyone for the help. For now this is solved, although I might come back with some other issues

Nope.

Here's another question, how do i compile (using compile.sh) only newly modified .sma? On windows compile.exe checks the compile.dat. What about on linux?

Also, I'm trying to make the newly compiled plugins to be moved into ../plugins/ (go down one folder and then go to folder plugins) folder.

Use amxxpc if you only want to compile a specific SMA

I want to use compile.sh for multiple .sma at once(lets say 50 .sma out of 150). If it's not possible then its ok.

It is possible if you modify compile.sh to suit your needs. It does not behave like the Windows counterpart compile.exe by default
