i love hook mod and when i buy my new server i would love to see a hook mod for source (but perhaps a better version than the meta plugin)

other than that good luck with the coding for sourcemod

Well hook mod didn't exactly look good in cs either

. BUT I'm sure you could use a model or sprite of a rope and extend it to the ceiling so it looks like your actually swinging on a rope in CS:S. I think it was possible to do in CS also but no one ever bothered.

Well there are a whole new bunch of entities in CS:S, one being a rope.

I am sure you could use those very rope entities to make a hook mod.

You know in superhero mod how they had the spiderman power? Well i think the best hook was that spiderman one in superhero mod. Is there a way to just make a spiderman plugin so that its just the hook and maybe edit the hook to look like a real web if possible?

i like the ideas of a actual rope or web ... also could it be made "shootable" ? i really do not know much about this sort of thing i just run the server ;) lol

anyways i hope someone has fun creating a plugin somthing like this.

ive got a novel idea. how about whoever decides to make a hookmod gives the end user OPTIONS as to what entity is used to display the rope, or how physics effect it.

It is unlikely you'll see any hook mod in Source unless valve does some serious work to the plugin interface.

Making a player grapple requires, PlayerPreThink, PlayerPostThink, The ability to create a USEFUL entity, and who knows what else.

Server mods really got their balls cut off with Source, the most you can only get whats happening in the game, you can't change much unless you get all dangerous, like LanceVorgin does, which not many people like doing.

i think making it a rope with a hook or weight on the end that could be only useful like a ladder woud still be fun .. for like climbin into windows and stuff like that
