Soccer is a team-sport, not a one man show.

I'm agree with you commonbullet, look france, they don't have great individualities. But they play as a team and that make the difference with some others team.

technicity is useless without a good teamplay, spain proved it.

France - Germany will be a nice picture, both team are great. I hope it will be hard.

It's quite surprising that brazil was for nigeria.
Old worldcup demons coming back ?

I don't think so, at least not in this stage. Brazilians tend to support weaker teams; that's a cultural aspect.

Wow, that last 5 minutes in the Argentina vs. Switzerland game was intense.

That's true. Messi is overall a better player, but the most important part is how these teams depends on Messi or Neymar to win.

Argentina depends too much on Messi, and although they were at the easiest group of the World Cup, they haven't played decently til now. Brazil's been far from brilliant too, but they don't rely so much on Neymar as Argentina does on Messi; both are having problems to win, but Brazil has faced more respectable opponents.

Extra time marathon is very hard, as players are already exhausted. Penalty shootout is worse because it's unfair.
Maybe more substitutions could be allowed when regular time ends; unfortunately that's something FIFA will never change.
