Many people have wondered where SourceMod has been the past few months. Well, that reason is finally revealed: We've been working on another project! In a secret, underground laboratory, the SourceMod project was split into SourceMod and Metamod: Source.

The consensus has been that developers are unhappy with the Server Plugin interface from Valve, and we believe this is the solution. Metamod: Source gives a very powerful and flexible interface to the Half-Life 2 engine. It also solves the problem of multiple plugins trying to "hack" the same areas in memory.

Today, we've released the very first release candidate of Metamod: Source. To get binaries, find more information about developing, plugin creation, tutorials, sample plugins, etc., visit the website at:

Well the public release is finally here. PM's work on SourceHook is very impressive. I'll say it again though, my name really shouldn't be there in the credits, heh. BAILOPAN and PM did all the work. Looks like it's now time for me to get back into some SourceMod coding if I can (when Windows is installed again that is )

I got a problem with installing it...
When I add "GameBin |gameinfo_path|addons/metamod/bin",
it disapears after i've started CS:S.
I installed it, added the line started CS:S, and it didnt work typing "meta".
So I checked thru again and found out that the line was gone.
I've tryed many times, but the line just disapears after starting CS:S?

Are you running it on a Listen server? We're still trying to decide the best way to run it on listen servers, right now you can't do it through the steam menu because Valve overwrites your files on load.

Same thing with dedicated servers through the steam menu, except there you can set the files to read only.

Are you running with autoupdate with verification of all files??
