I'm making a plugin that is similar to BeTheRobot, in that you can be the Giant instead if your admin.

Basically, I need to change the weapon sounds, and I noticed not all of them follow a "folder\folder\file" format exactly. For instance, "quake_rpg_remastered" (The Original) is found with the directory "weapons\\quake_rpg_remastered", and the other rockets ")weapons\rocket_".

This is a bit odd, and is incredibly annoying for my needs, as I never know what the sound is actually found with.

I tried adding a line in the sound hook to display the sound being played... but not every weapon is printed to the chat (Minigun and flamethrower for example), and some of the ones it did show don't seem to be right, as the sound isn't changed.

So, is there a reliable way to find these things out, and/or a resource that I can reference? Some help would be appreciated

I just use the hammer editors sound browser thingy.
Some weapons sounds are just simply clientside and cant be hooked by the server

Have you looked in tf2_misc_dir.vpk's scripts/game_sounds_weapons.txt file yet?

Huh, I wasn't aware of that, whataya know.

Thanks for the tip, I didn't realize it was so simple, sorry if I wasted your time, I just had no luck in any searches I could think of
