I've been wondering what the exact difference between those two is?
Anyone can give me a detailed description on the difference? Not just something like "AMX Mod is better".
Thx

haha. don't get started about charts again ;]

the real difference is in the community - AMX Mod X has always been a highly community oriented project. We listen to the people and have fast release cycles - you won't see things like "Bug Reports" forums and developer/user interaction too often on amxmod.net. It's run by a team of developers rather than a loose confederation of people without CVS access.

the differences between amxmod 0.9.9 and amxmodx 0.16 isn't huge, but the difference between 0.9.9 and 0.20 is massive... a vast amount of code was rewritten from the ground up, it's more stable, secure, faster (than 0.16), and easier to debug. It also has way more mod support and scripting abilities light years ahead of what AMX Mod currently has.

So, check out the feature list ;] but the end result is use what works for you. if something annoys you, find the right solution. for most people even Admin-Mod will suffice, it all depends on what you need.

Well lets see (i hate lists yet cant live with out em hmph)

AMXMODX -Pros

Community is helpful
Plugins are nicely rated, organized and mostly kept up2date.
Plugins have to be approved before they get put on the main plugins page so this ensures better compatibility since its tested.
Most of the great coders from amx code for amxx also
Amxx is a final release now.
Amxx doesnt need tons of modules
amxx doesnt need modules to be setup in metamod (amx does)
Amxx has a debuging function for faster and more accurate bug reporting.fixing
amxx allows more control over the hlengine.
amxx has an autoinstaller so its noob friendly
amxx has multiple language support
Amxx above all has a dedicated (perhaps too dedicated {do the programmers have live lol j/k }j/k) coding team and support.

Amxmodx -cons
well if theres any its that they had to split from the amx community but the there are no real cons with program its excels past amx in every
on second though one con is amxmodx has less plugins than amx (But that could be do too the fact that amx has so many plugins that do almost the same thing)

Amx -pros
lots of plugins
been around for a while so we know it works.
has good hl modding capablities
has a large community
its in a stable (mostly) release rite now
it was the basis for the idea of amxmodx (sort of)

Amx -cons
very disorganized
lack of updates
the mod is all patchwork (like how microsoft release windows updates constantly, well amx does the same just not as often and for a while the patches werent even by the author of the plugin.)
not that great of support
Not very noob friendly
needs many modules
modules have to be put in a modules file and the metamod plugins.ini file
unfortunaltly the main author olo has disapeared or given up or something like that.
no debug feature.
no autoinstall.exe
