I noticed that neither Mani nor Sourcemod is working to stop chat spam. Am I correct and is there an alternative? Thanks.

What exactly is the problem? If players are spamming chat, either use ma_mute or sm_gag.

Well considering our clan has 9 game servers exactly how do you expect us to keep up with all the muting and gagging? I mean really, an automated spam protection would be best.

Use floormaster's persistant mute/gag program? I assume if you're running 9 SERVERS then you have SQL already set up and working...

He wasn't being unfriendly. He was asking you to clarify and giving you a less-than-ideal solution to be used in the meantime. Not being clairvoyant he couldn't have known that you have 9 game servers.

But yeah I guess sm_antiflood will probably be your best bet which has already been suggested.

If I read his comment wrong then I was wrong and apologize, but to clarify my response, it would be VERY easy to read his comment as.. "so I don't get what your complaining about just use this...", and read it as a snide remark. I don't for the life of me see why you think he was 'obviously' asking for clarification.. maybe if you know him then it's obvious that he's a nice person who is generally helpful, however I don't know him and read it as snide. Another symptom of reading a persons comments without the benefit of personal knowledge of the person or the inflection in the voice to help you ascertain if the comment was snide or genuine.

To me it's very obvious that I wouldn't talk like that to someone I thought was really trying to help, but that's because I know the type of person *I* am.

Yes I have mysql setup.

No I don't want to mute and gag everyone and grow my db.. i'd like to just block bad words as the spam filter used to do. I will however look into the plugin you mentioned.

He had no reason to be unfriendly to you, so I don't know why you read it as such. Anyway, SourceMod never came with a bad words filter, only an anti-flood plugin. http://www.sourcemod.net/plugins.php...ilter&search=1 lists several plugins you can use though.
