Hey guys!

I have knowledge of using Linux and setting up a server for CS:GO (and other games).
But I have no idea how to choose the right one and what is best for me.

Maybe someone can help me and tell me are these options correct or total bs.

CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1275V6 or AMD Ryzen 7 1700X or Intel Core™ i7-6700 - If im correct, then the AMD one should be best of these 3?
RAM: 4x16GB DDR4
SSD: 2x SSD M.2 NVMe 512 GB or 2x SSD SATA 512 GB - M.2 probably faster, but are the difference visible?
Network: 1 GBit

Ideally trying to set up 3 CS:GO servers, all 32 slots and 128tick.

Since SRCDS is like single core, you are looking at the best single core performance, to determine what would be best when operating servers.

For the mentioned CPU's, the order would then be:

1. Intel Xeon E3-1275 v6
2. Intel Core i7-6700
3. AMD Ryzen 7 1700X

Having so many slots, and at 128 tick, ... seems always to be like a game.

Moving on with 4-6 years old CPU's, I'd say there is always a chance that you could win the game, but similarly, also the chance you might lose. It could go both ways.

Regarding M2 vs SSD, I'm doubtful that you would be able to notice any difference at all, solely based on the type.

There are however many SSD's at 512GB, and many M2's at 512GB, ... so without knowing the exact models of those, you cannot really compare them up front...

Can you tell me how you got that order?
Is the Clockspeed only thing I need to watch?

And if I would have access to Intel Core i7-8700, where that should be positioning in this order?

Intel Core i7-8700 is the top performer, you're looking at Single Thread Rating.

No, you should not be only looking at clock-speed, but it is the first indicator.

Also, as long as you're on an SSD, which type won't really matter all that much. Only difference it will make is when loading the next map, in terms of CS:GO.
