Hey everyone,

I am trying to create submodels or skins on a CS player model, and i would like to learn how to create submodels and make multiple models. I know that it is difficult, BUT i'd like to give a try.

I spent 2 hours on searching on google and here to find how to create submodels, but nothing.

If everyone knows, and wants to share his knowledge about models, just tell me.

With Respect,
Oxygen

$texturegroup is what you are looking for. Make sure 1st skin is the same as default texture.

Hmm, understood. But this is for skins right?

Now what about submodels? How can i create one, and then how to create the model in this submodel? I mean how to put correctly the sequences, hit boxes etc.?

Yes, thats about skins.
If I remember correctly:
$body "studio"
{
"model1"
"model2"
}
For each model you have to have .smd file. But I don't know how to add skins to submodels.
If something isn't right, decompile jbextreme model to check it.

Hmmmm, Someone who knows how to set up correctly the sequences and the hitboxes, so the submodels will work?

Cause not all the player models have the same seqs and hboxes...

You can't do that. You might add all the animations and then change them on the fly in-game, but it will glitch all the time and not worth it, just keep the sequences and hitboxes for all models the same or don't include them.

I found a lot "multi"models in alliedmodders, like jbextreme player models, and another one with 18 player models in one(i found that long time ago, and now i cannot find it). I really think that don't worth it, but if it saves a lot of mbs and the player downloads less mbs(4-6 mbs instead of 14-15mbs), i think that worth it.

It is very worth it, look for my test results in this thread: https://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=210789

However as all of these models are just submodels, they need to have the exactly same animations. You might be able to alter hitboxes somehow but I'm not too sure about that, you'd be better off keeping them all the same.
