[Windows] Unable to update my local server recently w/ steamcmd

Hoi,
Since the last CS:GO update i am somehow unable to use steamcmd. It starts / updates itself just fine, it logs into the anonymous (or provided account) just fine, however when it gets to the step "waiting for user info..." it just freezes, and soon after times out.
Have tried rebooting, disabling my antivirus and even multiple VPN locations, all with the same symptom. I've also tried deleting everything related to steamcmd, but steamcmd itself, which on the next execution then re-downloaded all its necessary files with no luck either.
Steam itself works flawlessly.
Any ideas what i could try? Thanks!
Edit: Well actually, looks like this is not that bad. While i do get the error trying to use the "all in one" updater-commandline, manually starting steamcmd. typing login anonymous (which will fail), and appupdate 740 afterwards works... Weird. I guess this thread can be trashed.
