Is there a list of what quality item is what color?

[Quality] = Normal / Genuine / olive / Vintage / orange / Unusual / Unique / Community / Valve / Selfmade / Customized Haunted.

Like I said, the client will see the color that was used in the last item found event. So if the last item was "Haunted", it will be purple. If it was "Vintage", it will be blue. Or in most cases, "Unique" and yellow.

Another way to get purple items is to spawn the Monoculus using DarthNinjas spawn plugin. It uses the purple text to announce when he'll be leaving etc.

Also, for some reason, sm_fakeitem doesn't work for me, but sm_fakeitem2 does.

No. I'm not sure if I want to facilitate people using the new item color codes for fake item spam. It has been stated that such usage will lead People at Valve to remove the color code feature from the game. (aka, this_is_why_we_cant_have_nice_things.jpg).
