The domain it's just a friendly way to mask your ipaddress, but even if you manage to host your own website at home, you would have to point your domain DNS to your ip address, making it public and probably a good target for attacks.
One way you could hide it is setting up a free CloudFlare account, pointing your domain to their servers and then create an DNS record type A pointing to your home IP address, enabling the Proxy to hide your IP to being resolved directly, that way nobody (apart from CF) would know what IP address your website is really hosted on cos it's being served through CF proxy. Althoguh very educational to do it, this is NOT recommended setup for a production environment for many other reasons.
I believe AWS provides small free tier VMs you could use to host a simple website without being restricted for creating external connexions.
