I'm not 100% on any of this yet as I'm still getting crashes but it seems to be happening much less often.

I have edited two things. Firstly I applied a better method to my FF2/VSH server that will better handle how the sentry is destroyed when the engineer dies. Second I have blocked basically every action slot item. I'm still monitoring this, it's hard to debug because of how infrequent crashes are.

I'm still debugging this but I have been able to recreate this crash on my test server to make it crash 100% of the time: https://crash.limetech.org/fwevp6nokxrd

This is being done on Windows OS server with Freak Fortress mod. I set the boss to be L4D Bill which I think most servers use. I set myself as heavy with the Bread Bites weapon equipped. I slayed the boss and set myself to be the next boss. As the next round starts it crashes. If you don't wear the Bread Bites weapon this crash does not occur.


EDIT:

Also seems to happen with Fists of Steel.

EDIT2:

Doing some more testing only sniper class bosses will make this crash occur.

What weapon(s) are the sniper bosses given after their class changes when the crash occurs?

Index 264 (Frying Pan) and 401 (Shahanshah) tested with two different bosses.

Prinny melee weapon for the engi also causes this crash with sniper.


It seems that there is some issue with the sniper class and animations that is causing these crashes to happen.

I've tried disabling all the sniper bosses on my server and it would still crash once in a while. :/

Fearts,

Any chance of you modifying your FF to remove the Hale's weapon slots before transforming him into the Sniper boss? I'm wondering if this could prevent the crash. Might have to wait a frame between removing and transforming.

(I've only ever used TF2_RemoveWeaponSlot but it looks like TF2_RemoveAllWeapons should work just the same: https://sm.alliedmods.net/new-api/tf...moveAllWeapons)
