He probably just needs to update sourcemod to a newer snapshot.

Server crashes upon join, only with this plugin enabled and this is the only output it gives. I've checked and the file exists at cfg/sourcemod/multi1v1/. Tried reinstalling the entire plugin but it still crashes.

update your sourcemod version ...use 1.10

What do you mean update? I installed the latest version which was 1.9, what do you mean 1.10? Must be super old and incompatible.

i am running 1v1 arena ..and its working fine with sourcemod version 1.10 and still crashing with 1.9

1.9 or 1.10 are fine. You just need a newer build on either branch:

I've tried both the dev build (1.10.0 6353) and stable (1.9.0 6260) with exact same results, crashing when selecting team and error log only talking about a missing configuration.
