You might try the Execute Configs plugin; it can do what you want.

Also, the server tickrate is independent of the cmdrate and updaterate of the players in the server. If you really want to change your actual server tickrate, that requires the -tickrate command-line option, and if you're on the Orangebox engine, it requires a plugin to re-enable that option.
I tried execute configs and your plugin but I am having the same issue. With yours it always triggers the low-population.cfg but never triggers the normal-population.cfg. I followed the instructions to the letter and do not see an error in the log. I simply want to change some class restrictions and turn alltalk on and off. Any ideas why it would not trigger?

Same issue as what? The thing you quoted is me saying I don't plan to add multiple thresholds.

Its not the multiple thresholds I am worried about its that the thresholds are not working at all. It triggers the low-population.cfg but the normal-population.cfg never triggers. I tried the other plugin first but it also did not work.

I am doing this with TF2 and I am placing them in the main cfg folder (same as server.cfg).

It is probably something simple but I have started over twice and followed the instructions carefully with no positive results.

The filenames should be "population-low.cfg" and "population-normal.cfg". You have the names backwards (at least in describing the problem to me).

Yes, unfortunately that isn't whats happening in the folders. They are named correctly. I get the population low message. I used the examples you provided to test.

I added some extra say messages to make it obvious and I only ever see the population-low.cfg message.

Alltalk never turns off at the threshold.

Should I have the population configs in the sourcemod cfg folder instead of the default config folder?

Is it an issue of the map needing to change for alltalk changes to take effect?

Hrm not working for me.. I have it set to 11, I have the cfg files population-low.cfg and population-normal.cfg in the folder, the ones from the plugin. I have 14 players in the server all on teams and it hasn't disabled all talk and fast respawn

Oh found the problem. I think TF2 uses the teamplay_round_start event.

Yep, it's working with that event now. Here is a version for tf2:

Yeah. I should probably get that figured out with an update, a list of the round_start event equivalent for games that don't use it. In the meantime, you can just replace round_start with the right event in the source and recompile it.

With TF2, though, I doubt this will be that useful for you, considering the length of the rounds.
