Installing Windows 10 is what i regret the most... Now, I get errors for "missing .dll" files, even when the .dll files are where they should be. I can start some video games without problems, but other video games can't be started - because of errors for missing .dll files.
So, i created back-up of my ZM server, because i knew something will go wrong.
After i created the back-up of my Zm server, i opened SteamCMD and typed this: "force_install_dir C:\steamcmd\folder\"
Then i wrote this in the console, after i connected to Steam: "app_update 90 validate"
After the downloading was finished, i copied the downloaded files and placed them in the folder where my ZM server is. After i started the server, i got an error. The error's window is called "hlds.exe - Entry Point Not Found" and the error message says this: "The procedure entry point Q_snprintf could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\folder\game folder\steamclient_orig.dll."
The "steamclient_orig.dll" file is exactly where it should be, but I'm still getting the same error that the file is missing. The file is not missing. So, why do i get this error?
I get similar errors for missing .dll file when i try to start other games, too. For example, Half-life 2 also gives a similar error when i try to start Episode 2, but i don't get any errors when i try to start Episode 1. Resident Evil 5 shows the same error, but the missing file is "xlive.dll", despite the fact the "xlive.dll" file is exactly where it should be.
So, the problem is maybe coming from Windows 10, not from the CS 1.6 game or from Steam. Can someone explain to me what to do? I want to update the HLDS to the latest version. Currently, the version of HLDS is 4554 from the year 2010, meaning it's very old.
Using HLDS 4554, the server doesn't show any errors when i start it. The error is coming only when i update the server.
