I'm pretty sure it's a FULL release like every other version. It's not an UPGRADE of any kind. So you should be able to replace it. But just delete the old .16 files and install 1.0 fresh, since some things might be different and it could mess things up!

Never delete !! (well after a few weeks when the new is working)

Only rename !!

Delete, move, you could do whatever.

I'd delete because I save every plugin I download, and I can install them with ease because they are in a certain folder. For others who delete the plugins after they download them, this would not be your option.

But deleteing is the BEST way for no errors, because you don't have certain things that may not overwrite, or whatnot, and you'll be coming back here, crying about why AMXX doesn't work.

Do you like disagreeing with me or is that somehting you do to piss me off? Sheesh.

I would also suggest renaming/moving the old folder just for back up. You never know when something could break.

Of course I disagree -- I know my way is better

Many users often delete a working installation or when upgrading delets important files ie. users.ini.

Then after they upgraded all their settings are gone.

A good way is to just rename the amxmodx folder to amxmodx_<date><version>. Then install the new amxmodx folder in the addons folder.

For myself I have a folder called amxmodx_template whick contain all special settings for me. Ie. maps.ini sql.cfg and the scriptingfolder with all my rewritten and custum plugins. So I never worry about delete, but I don't delete anyway.
When the nightly where coming out I just copied in my special files and recompiled everything.

But a newbie almost never do backups. So they will be stuck if they delete a working installation.

@ f1del1ty.oXi -->That why IMHO

I do it also. I have probably 8 different cstrike folders. One with AMX 0.9.3, one with AMX 0.9.8, AMX 0.9.9, AMXX 0.16, and so on. I never USE them though, and they are taking up 2 gigs on my HD
