I am trying to get Sourceban (www.sourcebans.net) to be installed on my VPS. The firewall has been disabled, so all ports are open, yet it still gives an error.

Error connecting (108.48.199.203:27015) Help

The help link says:

Which ports does the SourceBans webpanel require to be open?

If your web panel shows Error Connecting for your game server when it is actually online,
ask your web host to open UDP incoming from your game server port (usually 27015).

If either the RCON console, Admin Rehashing or Kick-It does not work on your web panel,
ask your web host to open TCP outgoing to your game server port (usually 27015).

Use this small testing script to get more detailed debugging information. Open the php file and add your gameserver's ip and port as described in the comments.

You should always check beforehand, if your gameserver banned your webserver's ip with listip in rcon. Remove it from the banned_ip.cfg and removeip IP via rcon.

I have checked the ip's to make sure that they aren't banned, which they aren't. The test script they have, which i ran, gives this:

[+] SourceBans "Error Connecting()" Debug starting for server 108.48.199.203:27015 (Server ip and port)

[+] Trying to establish UDP connection
[+] UDP connection successfull!
[+] Trying to write to the socket
[+] Successfully requested server info. (That doesn't mean anything on an UDP stream.) Reading...
[-] Error getting server info. Can't read from UDP stream. Port is possibly blocked.

[+] Trying to establish TCP connection
[-] Error connecting #110: Connection timed out

I don't know how to fix it, as i have tried everything.

Firewall is disabled on my VPS, does my shared hosting need to allow those ports?

telnet 108.48.199.203 27015
Trying 108.48.199.203...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection timed out

Either your firewall is still on or your Host of your VPS is blocking the ports. Afaik you need to have UDP and TCP on port 27015 open for it to work.

108.48.199.203 is my server ip, not my vps ip.

Both UDP and TCP are open.

I have 27015 TCP
and 27015-27030 UDP

Do i need the webhost (aka. My website) to have those ports open, or my firewall to have those ports open?

VPS firewall: Disabled

They ARE open.

Hi Chris,

I am not quite sure where the issue might be. We've exhausted our efforts here and sourcebans.net is not something is covered in the management tier you have. We have cleared all firewalls on both the VPS and the shared hosting server (where your web site lives) so I doubt that it is an IP / Port issue.

first of all to figure out where are problems we need following information.
Sourcemod Log Files .
Next sourcebans.cfg from configs/sourcebans.
Next databases.cfg from configs/
then it would maybe shed more light on this all right now it's obvious mistakes is somewhere there.

The webpanel has nothing to do with gameserver configuration files.

OT: I'm unable to view your gameserver's information at all. Is it running?

Uh, you should configure a rule rather than disabling your firewall.
