A few days ago my computer shutdown fine .. now when i press shutdown / turn off by the start (Windows 7) It shuts down but the computer is still glowing and you can hear the fan.

Anyone have an idea what this might be? i have to turn it off manually by pushing the power button

check your control panel/power settings and make sure your power plan is set to shut down on start button click and not sleep or hibernate

All is set to shutdown still does not work

install another OS in another partition, to know if it's an OS or hardware problem.

windows needs to be shut down correctly + it's not good for the hardware too .

Tested with ubuntu and it shutted down perfectly so what might be the error?

Virus might be preventing you from turning off your computer through windows.

Do a thorough virus scan, and if that doesn't fix it, and you have tried everything else, you may have to format.

The computer turns off but not totaly the fans inside still run and the light is still on. You can hear the sound that it shuts down also but still you can hear the fan going on and a glowing light from infront the comp.
