Use this to play all the modes mentioned below:
1. All Pick
2. Captain's Mode
3. Random Draft
4. Single Draft
5. All Random
6. Unknown (Looks like it has only a pool of heroes for "new players", and a 3 minute picking time)
7. Diretide
8. Reverse Captain's Mode
9. The Greeviling
10. Tutorial
11. Mid Only
12. Least Played
13. New Player Pool (same as 6 except with 1 minute picking time and non-playable heroes grayed out instead of not visible)
Everything else after 13 shows up as #game_mode_xx, and is just all pick.
Use winter map for greeviling and diretide map for diretide mode.

But there is some problem with captains mode. Just when drafting starts, captain can't click on the heroes to choose/ban.

Guys I have a question:
Is it possible to establish a LAN server with no internet access?

I want to trow a LAN party, and my internet can't handle 10 connections. I managed to start a working server, however when I try to connect to the server (from the same computer the server is running on), if Steam is in Offline mode, I get disconnected (No steam logon error), and if Steam is online everything is fine.
Since I don't quite understand how all of this works, my assumption is that Steam's VAC kicks me out of the game because it can not connect to internet and validate my account. If I'm correct if I disable the VAC the LAN should work?

I admit that I was too lazy to read the entire tread, so I apologize if this was already answered somewhere.

Oh, thank you! I added to target field of server shortcut +sv_lan 1 (I don't have server.cfg), now I'm not getting kicked, testing with my friend is next.

We have been trying to play Captains mode but captains are unable to choose any hero either for pick or ban..

I installed the server fine. Everythings working on that end. However, my server.cfg isnt working. In my server.cfg, I have dota_start_ai_game 1 which should start the game with bots. However, upon going into the server and typing dota_start_ai_game, it displays 0. Why is this?
