when i try to launch it it goes up to "starting dedicated server..." and then *poof* vanishes i tried remove anything related to sourcemod or metamod then i tried deleting dedicated server files via steam then re-downloading them - didnt help.... tried changing from internet to lan , change ports , name , maps , rcon pass that much so far nothing helps I WOULD ATLEAST expect a crash with some details on why it is happening but nothing it just dissapears

No. You must create a shortcut to your srcds.exe with following launsh parameters:
-game left4dead2 -autoupdate +ip IP -port 27016 +maxplayers 8 +map c1m1_hotel -console -secure

Then it will launch as you want it to.

With regard srcds command-line parameters, be aware that -autoupdate only works on Linux/Unix so dont bother using it on a windows srcds and there is no such thing as -secure. All srcds (legit) are secured by default.
You opt out of it with the command -insecure

A revised (including directory) windows srcds command-line would be

C:\YourServerDirectory\left4dead2\srcds.exe -console -game left4dead2 +ip yourIP +port 27015 +map c1m1_hotel

gawd, this guy really needs a manual on how to install a server. I highly recommend not use the one you find on steam.

But since you just want a solution - Right click on the server, choose Properties, and choose "Set launch options".

But still, you better use hldsupdatetool to set up a server.

It's not +port but -port. Thanks for the other informations. I were aware of that -autoupdate really does nothing on windows, but never knew what it was made for. Yea i know that all srcds are secured by default but i never removed the launch parameter :-/

Just so you know, +port or -port will both work fine LoL

I agree with Egor that you should try and use srcds.

Tutorials for installing srcds with hldsupdatetool. Choose either windows or linux as per your Server OS.

http://www.srcds.com/?knowledge

The tutorials use CS:S as the game so you need to change the game to left4dead2 etc

hldsupdatetool -command update -game "left4dead2" -dir
