It's similiar to lucida sans unicode but im not sure it's that.
The color of {default} depends entirely on which game it is:
HL2:DM/DoD:S/CS:S uses an orange color.
TF2/L4D/L4D2 uses a white color.

The default color can also be overridden by client mods.

I'm not really sure which font it uses. It may be in one of the game's .res files... and could be different from game to game.

Edit: My TF2 server has a resource/chatscheme.res file, but I haven't had a chance to go through it yet.

Edit 2: TF2 uses Verdana, likely 12pt, for its chat font according to chatschema.res.
Attached Files
File Type: zip chatscheme.zip (2.9 KB, 207 views)

Thank you, I will investigate into it. It seems to be Verdana ty!

CPrintToChatAll("{red}R{tomato}a{orange}i{yellow}n{green}b{fullblue}o{indigo}w{violet}s{deeppink}~");
produces this:

In this case "indigo" isn't recognized and "violet" is ignored? but I've had various other colors (that are in the spec, eg blue, green) not being processed correctly.
That's what I caught when using too many colors (like 1 letter 1 color). Making a full sentence of colored letters results in parsing error. Like the one in the quote, but many of them. It's bad your cannot predict if you ad will be parsed correctly.

Making each letter its own color is a bad idea. The color codes count toward the message length limit, and you'll run out of space really fast if you use too many colors.

Why run out of limit, I'll make a screen to gladden you.
Here you go:

Good job, animalnots. Looks pretty useful! That's an odd color for 'azure' though - often azure is used when describing beautiful waters or skies.

Edit: Here azure is #F0FFFF which is based on the X11 system, though is much closer to #007FFF. Probably a consistency thing.

Don't blame me, the colors came from asherkin.

I'll go ahead and change the azure color to #007FFF, but plugins will have to be recompiled for the change to take effect.

OR: I can make it on a free one
