Ok, so here's my insight into the whole Mayan calender issue.

The end of the mayan cycle is called "The End of Days", and it is not the end of the world. The exact date of this is 12/21/2012/, the winter solstice of 2012. At this point in our planetary revolution around the sun, we are going to be perfectly aligned between the sun, moon, and the biggest super-massive black hole in our universe. The predictions for this astronomical event are shifting poles(has happened before), rotation/revolution disturbances( how we spin and revolve around the sun), title waves, and more. Now the mayans 'End of Days' is referring to the way in which we keep time, because after this event we could have 21 hours in a day and 403 days in a year( numbers made up for a point). So our way of keeping time with 'Days' is going to change.

Alright and a note about sun spots, has anyone thought that they are there because they are the direction of supper-massive black holes pulling the magnetic fields of the sun? If this is true then at the point of being aligned with the biggest bh we will be in the biggest sun spot.

The problem I see with the Mayan calender is that it would have had to have ended EVENTUALLY. I mean, more dates = more space. There is only a limited amount of space for the calender to be practical. They could cut it off on any date.

On the other hand, what Xanimos said. I need some proof, it sounds interesting and very cool.

Also another thing is that the Mayan Calender doesn't actually say that "This date is the end of the world". The end of the calender meant that there would be a giant reform in ideas and in society. IT DOES NOT MEAN THE END OF THE WORLD, IT MEANS THE END OF THE CULTURE. K?

1. the end of the world is not gonna happen in 2012
2. the article from the first post is a joke and none of it is actually factual
3. the Mayan calendar is full of shit and if you think that some primitive people from over 2000 years ago could predict anything worthwhile then lol at you
