Sorry to dig up the past - having some issues getting hats to show at all!

Should the config php go into plugin.buildinghats.cfg ?

Plugin shows as loaded...but not hats

config php?!?

buildinghats.cfg goes in your tf/addons/sourcemod/configs directory
buildinghats.smx goes in your tf/addons/sourcemod/plugins directory

after you load the plugin it creates plugin.buildinghats.cfg in the tf/cfg/sourcemod directory which you modify to your liking then reload the plugin or restart your server

I think the only solution may be to disable this plugin on MvM maps. You can use a config file to unload the plugin on MvM maps, or try something like this where the plugin shouldn't attempt to place a hat on a new building if it is a MvM map.
