Hello. I'm Martin. I have a question about the ban i got. My story: I was playing in Team Fortress 2 Skial server and just got banned, before i got banned i healed a player. I got ban and a text: Disconnect: You have been banned by this server, check [LINK] for more info.
So i went to the webpage and saw my name. I clicked on it and saw this reason: SMAC 0.8.4.1: ConVar mat_dxlevel violation (bad query result). I don't know what that means, could anyone help me?

I got a ban from another server too. Please help me.

I have never hacked in TF 2 and i don't have any mods, it just is like i installed it in Steam, i have nothing added to it.

Your client indicated that the mat_dxlevel cvar did not exist. I checked the current TF2 release and prerelease and in both games the cvar existed.

Do you run Linux or something?

Why would any cheat remove mat_dxlevel, lol.

the problem was caused by DirectX 11, which TF2 recognized as "DirectX v0.0"



running TF2 with the launch option -dxlevel 90 solved the problem, and his ban on Skial was lifted

I believe it was added initially to prevent clients from running very old versions of DX, which prevented some textures from being rendered.
