Hello everyone!

So i have this here:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb...-firefox-cache

I dont really understand much, how browsers work but is it possible that some pages
have put some sort of data somewhere where this tutorial from link would not delete it?

Basically there's one way to identify people, its by ip
and the other way is to send them some data to identify them.
For example making file myfile.txt somewhere and writing inside of it the user id number.

So the question would be that is it possible for pages to bypass the mozilla clear cache log system by
only using browsers default 'abilities?'?

By that i meant that mozilla with no extra plugins or
no other programs in computer what would provide a webpage a special access to somewhere.

Thanks!

Mozilla has their own website for asking questions about their products.

I wanted to check for weird stuff in my computer (some times ago):
  1. reinstalled a new OS.
  2. started peerblock before anything else.
  3. installed some softwares like dropbox, CPU usage stayed cool.
  4. started my old (portable) firefox, peerblock blocked a lot of outgoing connections, and CPU usage became crazy.
you can install some addons to remove all limit "spying" softwares in your browser.
examples: ghostery is more efficient than stupid Avira.

If you read the warning at the top of that document, you might have noticed that clearing the cache doesn't remove the browser's cookies...

Edit:

OK, I should expand on this:

Cookies are arbitrary information that a web page stores on the web browser. They can really be anything. When setting a cookie, you can specify that it only works on HTTPS for additional security. The browser sends a cookie whenever a request matches the subdomain/domain and protocol given for the cookie when it is created.

However, you can't trust cookies because they can be manipulated by the end user. This is where Sessions come in.

Sessions are data stored on the server about a particular client. Usually this is done in memory. However, there are really only two ways to identify a session:

1. URL
2. Cookies
3. IP

URL is lost if the user every follows a link not set up with the identifier in the URL... or use a bookmark to go back to your site.

Due to NAT, IPs are not indicative of the computer.

So, that leaves cookies to identify a session.

However, cookies are subject to Man in the Middle attacks (particularly if you didn't set the secure bit in cookies), so a lot of the time you use both a Cookie and the IP to validate a session.
