Hiya! It seems I have a problem with my server. It's a Windows server and as I try to add metamod.vdf into the addons folder, it crashes on start up. Any fix to this? This is only with metamod installed, no other plugins.

A few questions may help us figure out what's wrong:

  1. Which version of Metamod: Source?
  2. Which game?
  3. What are the contents of metamod.vdf? (It's a text file, and its contents are different for each game)

For example, for my Linux TF2 server, the answers are:
  1. 1.8.7
  2. Team Fortress 2
  3. Code:
    "Plugin"
    {
            "file"  "../tf/addons/metamod/bin/server"
    }

Is your metamod.vdf in:
../orangebox/tf/addons/
?

if so cut&paste it in:
../orangebox/tf/addons/metamod/

if this is not working try:

Code:
"Plugin"
{
    "file"    "..\cstrike\addons\metamod\bin\server.dll"
}
be sure to replace cstrike with the right game name if you are got a different game.
