Subject: Cannot modify network commands like cl_interp, cl_interp_ratio, or cl_updaterate — marked as "temporarily restricted" in Left 4 Dead 2

Hello,

I'm experiencing a persistent issue in Left 4 Dead 2 where I can no longer change certain network commands (Lerp settings) such as:

cl_interp

cl_interp_ratio

cl_updaterate

rate

When I enter them in the console, I get messages like:

pgsql
Copiar
Editar
"cl_interp" = "0.010000"
** NOTE: The real value is 0.000 but the server has temporarily restricted it to 0.010 **
I’ve already tried several potential fixes, including:

Completely uninstalling the game and deleting all related folders (cfg, userdata, and disabling Steam Cloud).

Launching local games (sv_lan 1, sv_cheats 1) with no mods, configs, or autoexecs.

Verifying the integrity of game files through Steam.

Starting with a clean configuration (no valve.rc, no launch parameters, default install).

What’s strange is that other players in the same session can freely change those settings, but I cannot.

I suspect that months ago I may have installed a config pack (possibly named “noskillch” or similar) that altered something at the engine level. Even now, in fully offline sessions, these restrictions remain as if I'm on a server.

Is there any way to fully reset the game’s networking engine and config behavior to its original, vanilla state?

I’d greatly appreciate any help or insight into resolving this issue.
