Dear who ever gives a crap,

As I was sitting in front of the scripting subforum, I had an idea that I feel would be quite useful, I think it would be wonderful if the search function was expanded to where a user/member could search of a piece of code in a plugin that has been uploaded to the forums. The reason I feel this would be useful is that when someone who is learning a new area has a function he or she would like to use, they could search that function in the the .sma files on the forums to see how others authors had previously used it.

Shouldn't be that much work, have a little section that searches the directory where the files are stored and simply read the files as text files.

When looking for a function, I enclose it in * in the search terms. It never failed me.

Perhaps another method rather than even having to parse every file independently would be to automatically take the code from any .sma file and write it into a [code] textbox so the forum automatically indexes all words to the database for searching. I like when authors paste all their code in a [code] textbox because not only is it easier for forum searching and understanding, but for quick reference if you do not want to download file and read through it.

Just trying to brainstorm ideas; mine may not be the best but hopefully those of you who are good at this will find a great method.
