In the l;ast TF2 update:

Changed idle player check to include spectators & players who haven't chosen a team

Which basically means idlers etc. get kicked after x-seconds/minutes.
But this also means you cannot even go spec to spec a cheater o afk for a while.
You get kicked regardless. Using sourcebans with full immunity and still get kicked while being spec.
Is there a way to block this ?

The new tf2 update now has idle checking? Are you serious?

I would hope theres cvars for this?

wait so is idling (bein afk) supposed to be counted as a BAD thing?? WTF??

As long as they do it correctly like by getting eye line vectors or something, then no. I guess it depends how it works.

As most people, we already run a afk manager plugin so.... Thats why I was wondering if there are cvars for it.

hm... weird lolz im guessin i did..well..wutvr it is u just sed xD cuz some reason i got that halo thing for like not cheatin or wutvr... played 1 round then the next its gone for all of my characters 0-o?? kinda suked cuz i kinda liked it xD

The idle check together with those cvars have always been there, but indeed before it only included people that were idle while actually being on a team. The default for mp_idledealmethod is 1, so if you hadn't changed that to 0 manually it would've kicked in after mp_idlemaxtime minutes, regardless of if you have a separate AFK manager.

Indeed.
Tsunami is correct.
We didn't have mp_idledealmethod set, and before this update it wasn't a problem and never gave issues. But after last update, the default seems to be 1.
Setting mp_idledealmethod to 0 and mp_idlemaxtime 0 returned the old behaviour .

Last time I tried setting mp_idlemaxtime to 0 without having mp_idledealmethod set to 0, it emptied out a full 24 man server and wouldn't let anyone join, because it thought everyone was AFK. Just mp_idledealmethod 0 is enough to disable it.
