I am running SM version 1.3 and I am getting the error still.

I think it also depends on if the extension is built on a newer revision than yours. Try updating to the newest 1.3 snapshot and see if it still gives the error.

for some odd reason sidewinder started working again in our server with build
sidewinder-1.1.2-hg51.zip on tr_runway since classless update with pubbies. i have yet to try a recent build though.
