Hello.

I noticed that the client_cmd command does not work for several hours (only for Steam users).
The previous day, everything was working properly and the plugin was not modified.

The most important code lines look like this:
Code:
register_concmd("Type_password", "Password");

client_cmd(id, "messagemode Type_password")
I got the following information in the console
Quote:
Server tried to send invalid command:"messagemode Type_password
"
It looks like that following command was read with tab (^n) at the end...

How someone got the same problem recently?
How to fix it?

Looks like it was part of an update from Valve: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/halflife/issues/2106.

They have also patched the workaround of xredirect.

Valve is making it really hard to slowhack, but this is kind of hurting the game since so many plugins are already out-of-support and they'll not be updated.

EDIT: Still glad that they didn't block everything, "cl_filterstuffcmd" is still an optional thing for legal settings in gamemodes like kreedz.
All fake servers are essentially useless now against Steam users.

Yes, we can’t use messagemode now.

I hope that the valve will improve it, but from the other hand there is little chance for it

In this case, I don't know how to enter the password by the player in safe way...

Valve won't. You still can retrieve from console or say/say_team.

I hope there will be some way to do it in a similar way as before.

It just needs a function that will display the option to enter the password for the player. I don't think say/say_team is a good choice, because other players can see what he wrote. Am I wrong?

There are no other ways. Not at all; you can block the message the player sends.
