doubt about it, cuz even when you manually set hitgroup to shield in pre hook of traceattack no shield effect would appear (as i tested)

There isn't pre hook of traceattack. You can't modify a traceattack before it happens.

I think you can't supercede it but I don't know. Read this thread they talk about the pre/post issue there:

you can, there was a block bleeding topic about it

wonder what will happen with shield hitgroup in traceattack cuz traceattack wasn't called at all when shield is hit normally, gonna test it tomorrow after i get home, now i have to sleep ^^

so i did, did set TR_iHitgroup to 8 then,supercoded one traceattack and executed another one with its(changed) parameters, no damage was done but there was blood and no sparks. *btw, does ric_metal-1.wav an ric_metal-2.wav play just randomly on hit or in some order or under conditions? and for sparks is there a function i can use or i can only make MSG_BROADCAST TE_Sparks ?

somehow knife tracing for shield is weird, according to the way hitting with a knife works a simply traceline should be enough but even that is buggy :X
btw with Ham_PrimaryAttack you can bug your plugin, simply shoot once at the shield and dont release mouse1, Ham_PrimaryAttack is called each 0.01sec then. I guess you should use FM_TraceLine which even supports bots hitting your shield.

I tested Ham_WeaponPrimaryAttack and it occured exactly when shot was fired. It just occured several times for grenades.
