It's very strange that this plugin don't work with you ^^

I have seen your config.cfg and you have sv_pure 0, it's good because sound don't download otherwise.

you must compile it yourself. there are some settings you have to made if you change sounds.

1: define how many sounds you have in the SP file. Like example :
#define MAXSOUNDS 4

2:
and then insert the sounds you need in the SP file.
look at the directorys.

And don't understand of don't forget to copy the sounds in the right directory on your gameserver, and on your FAST_FTP if you have one..

Perhaps your sound is not in a comprehensive format for the dods sound reader ?
Sounds shoud be frequency:44100 khz and not less bitrate:96kps
If not you download the sound but you're not able to hear it.

Also take a look at your C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\your_name\day of defeat source\dod\sound if the sound is here... if not, it's a fastdownload problem.

you can also test sounds if they can be played when you are in game and write in console
"play joinserver/welcome.mp3" <-- your sound path

if you hear it, the soundfile is ok!

a couple of questions. is there a limit of sounds you can use? and do all the sounds download at once or do they download as they are picked to be the joining sound?

Hi,

I copyed the SMX and the SP and the Joinsound map, with the basic join sound on the server.

The welcome.mp3.

But if i restart the server and and i hear the sound ( so it starts up good the plug)

Only it doesnt play the Welcome sound , i playes an German sound of maybe 40 secs long.

Howe come that it doesnt play the basic welcome sound of Lady's and Gentelmen. ?

I used the Single server sound. Smx and Sp and welcome sound.

It seems so far only my self with an diff sound on start up. And other 1 that joined the server was getting the Good Mps, of Welcome.

So why do i get my selfs an diff MPS what i hear and the other lad the good 1 ?? Seems strange must say.

maybe you have a soundfile with same name in the same directory? when yes, delete it.
was the soundfile downloaded as you join your server?

but i prefer to edit the SP file and make your own directory.
e.g.:

"sound/joinserver/welcome.mp3",

TO

"sound/happydods/welcome.mp3",

This plugin only works for me the first time I join the server.

Day of Defeat Source.

After that, I constantly get:

"Failed to load sound "joinserver\welcome.mp3", file probably missing from disk/repository"

The only way to get it to play again is to reset the server.

Any ideas?

It always plays the first time, but if I change the level, I get the error message.

I had sv_pure set to 2. Setting it back to 0 resolved the issue.

did anyone ever figure this out, Im stuck as well, doesnt seem to want to add custom mp3's
