Plenty of symfony projects that use bower, even has a nicer way of handling it (https://github.com/Spea/SpBowerBundle) its just makes our lives as dev easier to update bootstrap/angular/etc ..

So its another frontend for rcon... ?
Why do we need this instead of tried and true tools like cron, shell scripts, and the like that do their jobs without requiring deps, resources, or remote connections?

Well thats the good part about open source, dont need it? dont use it. (but it does more then just rcon, read the old ssms topic for instance)
