A better solution would be to ask in this post than to add a target type where you select only the dead survivors.

Complete offtopic. SM Respawn Improved doesn't use Left 4 DHooks Direct at all.

Please, don't suggest anything, if you don't understand what is it about.

The SM Respawn plugin does not depend on using the Left 4 DHooks Direct as a requirement, however the Left 4 DHooks Direct can add custom targets to any command.

I am using this plugin on a versus server for when a player dies via some bug in the game, such as accidentally getting launched into the air off of a common and then falling to their death. If the player died without a kit, I would like to be able to respawn them without a kit so that it is more fair for the other team.

BTW, by default medkit is not listed in l4d_sm_respawn_loadout ConVar. I think, it's something you manually added there.
