Anyone get the sounds working in TF2 ?


I can see the Fireworks just fine but there is no sound. I have tried Both Sv_pure 1 & 0

My server downloaded 1 sound, but when I tried the plugin, the fireworks worked but the console was flooded with missing sound errors, though I didn't manually install the sounds which might be partly why.

You could use this Downloader + Precacher plugin to have the sounds cached for players without them downloading the sounds.

Alternatively, you could combine TF2-specific sounds that players will already have in their game files to recreate a fireworks sound effect (though you would need to edit the source for that).

Works great for me in TF2.

Did you edit your whitelist.cfg

Well first off, i wanned to make it work for every mod with the same sounds just because they sound much better then any other explosion ingame. And these are real firework sounds. I need to test it again but last time i checked it worked perfectly on my test server.

Also don't forget. This plugin already Precache's the sound and Add's it to the download list. You can edit the source if you don't want that and wish to use another plugin for that matter.

Is there another whitelist I am missing? I can still see them but no sound and "failed to load" int he console.

well I'm running without sv_pure 1, and i still just get massive errors in console at end of round saying the sound isn't present. I have the files on the game server, and on my fast dl server as well.

I run "sv_pure 1" here.
Ran the "vog_fireworks.sp" thought the SourceMod Plugin Compiler.
Edited the "tf/whitelist.cfg" file:

Added to the "sourcemod.cfg" file:

sm_fireworks_field_size 1
sm_fireworks_low_ceiling 1
Put the sound files on the server & the fdhl.
Rebooted the server, and the plugin worked as it should for TF2.

Linux
SM 1.2.0 with v1.2.1 gamedata files.

Glad to see it work for the latest version.
well i wouldn't see why it shouldn't tho :p

anyway thanks for confirming that it still fully works on tf2 Cuz.
