I think it would deter players from playing on my server if I were to prevent them from playing before making changes. How hard would it be to remove the player blocking part of this plugin and simply have the MOTD CHECK message remain on the screen as it already does until they change their settings?

@ loranger, as in an exemption flag so certain players are not pestered?

@ DeathMaster, that's not the scope of this plugin. For communities that list all their rules and guidelines on the motd panel, players that have it enabled will miss them on connect.

yes, a cvar that let us choose wich flag can be exampted.. plz

Sorry about that loranger, I forgot about your request. Here ya go!

Revision 1.0.4
  • Added support for sm_force_html_motd_flag, which ignores individuals that possess the flag.
  • Removed translations Phrase_Instructions_1 and Phrase_Instructions_2.
  • Removed system that printed clients chat instructions, replaced with a menu that displays up to 9 phrases.
  • Added translations Menu_Title and Menu_Phrase_#, where # is 0-9
  • The sm_motdhelp command now re-displays the instruction menu, should it be closed.
  • Players can no longer access sm_motdhelp unless their motds are disabled.
  • The instruction menu automatically appears when a client is found to have motds disabled.

I been having a weird bug since your previous version, whenever someone join my servers, they are throw in spectators.

It doesnt ask them to join a team even if cl_disablemotd 0


Is there a way to fix that?

The plugin forces them into spectate if cl_disablehtmlmotd is enabled, but otherwise it shouldn't be affecting normal players. I haven't been able to reproduce it on a legit player.

Revision v1.0.5

  • Removed translation "Menu_Phrase_9" to make room for an exit button.
  • Added translation "Menu_Phrase_Exit" which controls the exit button.
  • Added an exit button to the information panel that only works when a user has enabled html motds.
  • The information menu is no longer forced on clients that have had their html motds enabled.
Guess I should have spent a little more time on 1.0.4 >.>

Your new version doesnt work at all on my server... no menu is displayed nobody is moved into spectator...

I suspect its conflicting with this plugin: "In-game Help Menu" (0.3) by chundo

That help menu is displayed upon player connection.
