Why is it that plugins compiled under linux OS ( CentOS 6 64bit ) are larger than plugins compiled under Windows ( XP 32bit ) ?
What's the difference?

Also if server running on OS linux is better to use plugins compiled on linux ?

I've never had any issues. I compile all my plugins (for my server) using Windows executables on Linux and they work perfectly.
