Need help with server IP!!!

Ok I know pretty much about my external and internal IP and the thing is that, ok I went to my IP config website and made it so my HLServer should be aloud to be seen, so I started up my server and of course there is my internal IP that only im suppose to go to so I put it in my favorites.............nothing comes up i go to www.ipchicken.com and find my external IP and add my port to it................

My external IP is 70.120.221.29 so I added 27015 making 70.120.221.29:27015 and I tried adding it to my favorites............nothing happens I ask one of my friends on aim to see if they can see it...........ahh sorry dude can't see ur server IP.

I started a search in here for port forwarding then i went to www.download.com and dled port magic then once I had seen that it was no help b/c i went back to my router config website thingy and found all it had done was make the name PG and PG1 meaning port magic and it had my server port so I just decided taht I would make my own instead of using that program.

After I did all that, for a last resort I started this post right here..............

Slow down, use paragraph structure, and go to gametiger.com and look for your server's name.

and I did the external IP and added the UDP port.......

To what?

Check your router's "port forwarding" or "virtual server" section.

EDIT: Log in directly, don't use port magic.

lol i said clearly in my first post that i stopped using it and went strate to my HLServer configure and configured it to allow HLServer......

I said router, not your HL server. There's a huge difference.

Usually you can log in with something like 192.168.10.10 or 192.168.1.0 or something to that effect. Read your router's manual.

i wont forget next time, but I did do it right yes I configured my router to accept my HLServer I saw the thread on www.steampowered.com now can we move along

Try putting it on the DMZ. Just to see. (Should be in your router)

And also I noticed that when I start up my server and the first screen comes up and I pick, you know the map and I put in the rcon password well neither of those show up after I start up my server so like even after my server starts and I select another map nothing happens and if I add the rcon password I want after I have started it nothing happens........

What is the dealio?
