This post isnt really about superhero mod but why the fuck do i always "time out" of servers when i go to them? Is there something i can do to prevent or cut back on how many times i "time out"

A lot of times you can time out from a server because you connect to the server, then you take too long to precache the files so you time out. You can help cut down on this my getting more RAM or stopping some programs form running in the background. I also noticed what helps is to increase the virtual memory, but virtual memory doesn't compare to real RAM.
