Not sure if this is the correct area to post this type of question in.

I've got a few custom maps a friend of mine created during the CS:S days, source files and working .bsp in CS:S I've seen a few guides and stuff about porting these things over but they don't really get in-depth enough.

I'm able to prevent the weapon crashing by manually correcting those to the CS:GO equivalent I just do that with NotePad++ but I found that heaps of textures are missing and all that... Shit...

Is there a tool that can convert this stuff or any good resources for this? Or maybe somebody here could teach me?

Any help would be really great! I have no idea what I'm doing in Hammer beyond the basics.

bspsrc allows you to decompile WITH all the assets/files within the .bsp file. (as in textures etc)

Other than that I can't really help.

Didn't think of that, OP: http://gamebanana.com/tuts/11152

Use GCFScape to extract those, not sure if you can see which textures you need easily but yeah.

I noticed that you can see the textures missing if you compile the map, although that doesn't seem like the most efficient idea. ^_^

I've used bspsrc and that makes sense, also you can do Ctrl+P and see all the map errors.

While it does get me the textures from the .bsp they still don't work in Hammer, do I need to move them somewhere? I tried in the materials folder that didn't work.

Yeah, place them in their folder under materials.

You can check what folder they should be in, in the .vmt. Should say like $basetexture or whatever it is.
