Full-on format during the reinstallation of Windows 7.

I've used Pareto Logic and NTFS Undelete to find the files but they both didn't find anything.

So I'm moving onto Minecraft (found an excellent Legend of Zelda "AdventureCraft" map) and maybe Gang Garrison 2 (hosting a Friday/Saturday/Sunday server for fun)

Yes, you are the tool.

As I stated in the main post, I swore I backed all my files up before performing the reformat.

Only after fully finishing the reformat and opening up my external hard drive, did I realize that I didn't back my coding folder up.

In the future, consider adding source code version control to your workflow.

http://bitbucket.org/ offers private repos (if your plugins need to be private) and public repos for free. If you can mix in mercurial version control into your workflow, it's a great way to keep your code safe, secure, and versioned

There's github too. Having one copy of your source code, not on the cloud, is a hard but valuable lesson to learn.

I still consider it a bug that we have .smx files at all, but this is a cost we're stuck with. They cannot be trivially decomposed to source.

First of all, yes you can, and YES you can retrieve all the info in the .smx file. email me @ [email protected] It's a bit tricky, but I have done it time and time and time again. Just takes knowledge and the right program, which you can buy for 29.00 off the web. Or, like me create your own. If your purpose is to highjack other creators plugins, please... do not contact me. or I would at least ask you to get permission first. kk thx

@ProdigySmxMaster: Tricky? 29.00? It's a free, one-click job available on these forums.
