I still don't get it.
Mine both servers (one linux, one windows) are working fine with the #162 post.

Ya know, somehow I fixed this myself actually. The console told me that a specific line was causing the load failure of this plugin, so I loaded the .sp file in notepad++, found that line, and saw it had something to do with the cvar 'director_no_human_zombies,' which, as many of you know, doesn't exist anymore.

I wiped out the little section of code related to the variable 'director_no_human_zombies' and loaded the plugin, expecting failure of catastrophic means because I'm no plugin coder. But after recompiling, the plugin DID load correctly, but I still had spawn item issues related to FakeClients or something.

Here's the weird part. Now, maybe two weeks later, I tried to load it up first in local server, then in the L4D ded svr program, having made NO changes in between (there were a few L4D updates released along the way though) and it works JUST FINE! Apparently a miracle happened. Maybe those L4D updates saved it for me, I have no freakin clue haha. I can spawn anything and everything.

I know it sounds like a load of crap, but I suggest you read the console errors for the line giving issues, and pullout that section as well, if you know what you're doing. Just make a backup of the plugin script before you edit the .sp and recompile!

I'm coming from one of the early director plugins (that I quite enjoyed) but since the latest patch, I'm seeing too many weird issues on my hosted server. Multiple tank spawns and more annonyingly, early tank spawns on almost all rounds.

Anyhoo, I'm trying this version (post 162) and once the server is started, it is not auto-creating the plugin.all4dead.cfg.

I'm not sure if any other plugins hampen this one or not (switchplayers, etc.) so I'm wondering if its ok to ask that someone post their plugin.all4dead.cfg file so I can customomize for my tastes, or looking to know since its not auto-generating if I should be looking down that path of troubleshooting first.

Thanks

I don't know if this will help, but I'll post my cfg. This file hasn't updated in 2 months so I don't think it's generating it anymore.

Code:
// This file was auto-generated by SourceMod (v1.2.0-dev)
// ConVars for plugin "all4dead.smx"

// Whether or not we ask the director to place things we spawn.
// -
// Default: "1"
a4d_automatic_placement "1"

// Whether or not we announce changes in game.
// -
// Default: "1"
a4d_notify_players "0"

// The version of All4Dead plugin.
// -
// Default: "1.4.4"
a4d_version "1.4.4"

// When using the old versus logic do we ensure that both teams get the same type of bosses.
// -
// Default: "0"
a4d_vs_ensure_identical_bosses "0"

// Whether or not we randomise boss locations in versus mode (old versus logic)
// -
// Default: "0"
a4d_vs_randomise_boss_locations "0"

// The amount of zombies to add when an admin requests more zombies.
// -
// Default: "10"
a4d_zombies_to_add "10"
Also, with the #162 plugin it seems to work, but I do notice the server crashing more frequently when this plugin is loaded.

I noticed this too, though I've had a couple of crashes with it disabled as well. It does seem more frequent with the modified plugin from that post, so I left it off for the time being.

Glad to hear grandwazir is going to update it!

Thanks for posting your cfg rod. I cannot get this to load. When I hit the key thats bound to "sm_admin" I get options that are always there but this plugin has not added additional features (like the one I removed).

i hv put the smx file into addons/sourcemod/plugins. But it doesn't work. i havn't seen the All 4 Dead menu in my admin menu. What's wrong? Is my sourcemod's version different to the required? What should i do? i hv installed sourcemod-1.3.0.-hg2730. Is it right?
