Hey all,

I was wondering if there was any way to update CS:GO servers without it updating the cfg directory? I tend to have a fair few edits to the gamemode_casual.cfg etc files and was wondering if there was a way of making this directory exempt?

Thanks,
Lubricant Jam.

you are not suppose to edit gamemode_casual.cfg anyway....

If you are using vps/dedicated server maybe you should change owner of these files to root and run server as a some normal user?

Duplicate your file and name it gamemode_casual_server.cfg, this file won't be affected by updates and still used by the server.

Many thanks, forgot about this. What about mapcycle.txt do you reckon? I could just set it to read-only access but that's not practical when coming to update it.

CSGO not use mapcyclefile and cvar is hidden. CSGO use map groups.

But SourceMod still use mapcyclefile cvar.
You can set using sm_cvar command.
sm_cvar mapcyclefile "myfile.txt"
Code:
help mapcyclefile
"mapcyclefile" = "mapcycle.txt" game - Name of the .txt
file used to cycle the maps on multiplayer servers
