I know you can mute with sourcemod, but it only mutes people by steamid. I was wondering if theres any way to mute a person by there ip with sourcemod. If not someone should implement this function.

ok? I don't get it... I switched from mani (which allows you to mute someone by ip) to sourcemod but I guess sourcemod doesn't have this feature.

His point is, why do you NEED to mute someone via IP when they have a Steam ID?

Generally the answer to that question is they DON'T have a Steam ID or it is randomly generated at join time, IE No-Steam.

Thus the slogan, No Steam, No Support.

well... if the game were being played on a lan network with no connection to steam this would be legit... befor the flame inferno, i know this is a rare deal... but i know of at least one instance of this that comes up on a daily basis... our boys in the navy have distibuted networks on the ships and carriers that they game on during their off hours... these are lan only and do not connect to the web for authentication... however the offending voice spammer may not be near enough to you for a polite "Dude, STFU!!" and may or may not be freindly enough to comply with said STFU... in this situation a perfectly legit version of tf2 would still need the mute ip function...

Hey, im just saying... lol... (My younger brother is a navy boy and did a lot of this... when he was home he was always looking for authentication hacks for this game or that game so they could add games to their library that needed internet for account verification)

If not through Admin Menu, try use console

sm_mute name
or sm_mute #number (look players order with status command ex. #10)

Ip mute would actually be very nice to have, for people who continously joins with new accounts and scream in their microphones... Does anyone know how to create this?
