[Solved] What are these extensions from? Why are they in my server's extensions folder? - Page 2

I can safely remove these all from my extensions folder then.

I thought extensions get some kind of file locked when sourcemod loads. Couldn't you just attempt to delete all files when running srcds to see which files you do and do not need?

That's a Windows thing.

I had transferred those extensions over through server backups I had to do when Wine and Xvfb malfunctioned and wiped out several key system-made user accounts on my VPS causing many "bad ownership" errors and leading me to have to reformat the damn thing. I suppose I've just been holding onto old files for a while

In short, these are just old extensions that aren't distributed any more (because ep2v and dota were removed as engines), they'll never be auto-loaded either.

EDIT: Wait, some current extensions still use ep2v in their names though. I'm running:

- connect.ext.ep2v.so
- steamtools.ext.2.ep2v.so
- tf2items.ext.2.ep2v.so

I was going to purge any ep2v.so extensions but I'm confused now because I use those. So....do they get loaded despite having ep2v?

If both an ep2v and a tf2|dods|css|hl2dm exist, the latter has preference and is loaded. Else, on those games, an ep2v one can still load. It's a compatibility shim.
