I've been troubleshooting a single HLDS on a bare bone metal server for a little while now. I am running ubuntu 18.04 lts with lowlatency kernel. I see things that just don't make sense in regards to pingboost 2 and 3, stats, host_speeds 1, and fluctuations for players in game net_graph 3 XX ms. Using pingboost 3 players do not notice any change in animation speeds or incorrect c4 timer. But using pingboost 3 gives some of the highest host_speeds. Below I give different configurations of pingboost, sys_ticrate, and realtime task scheduling and the output of host_speeds.

Are these numbers normal? Try the rt_preempt patch? Is using pingboost 3 fixed and ok to use?

pingboost 3, sys_ticrate 1010 gives host_speeds range: 940 - 1009 fps | 6% cpu usage
pingboost 3, sys_ticrate 1000 gives host_speeds range: 753 - 890 fps | 4% cpu usage

chrt -f p 98, realtime task scheduling{
pingboost 3, sys_ticrate 1010 gives host_speeds range: 952 - 1122 fps | 78% cpu usage (unstable)
pingboost 3, sys_ticrate 1000 gives host_speeds range: 857 - 958 fps | 4% cpu usage
}

pingboost 2, sys_ticrate 1010 gives host_speeds range: 793 - 850 fps | 4% cpu usage

chrt -f p 98, realtime task scheduling
pingboost 2, sys_ticrate 1010 gives host_speeds range: 832 - 947 fps | 4% cpu usage
