Someone helped me figure out that you don't open the
pak01_000.vpk - pak01_153.vpk files
You have to open the pak01_dir.vpk file.

I can’t list the contents or unpack any CSGO DS pak files.
I tried vpk.exe from the csgo client bin directory and also from L4D2 bin directory.

The weird thing is both VPK.exe files will unpack vpk files from the steam workshop but they will not work at all with the CSGO DS pak files from the csgo ds base directory
the ones named pak01_000.vpk - pak01_153.vpk

Here is the output showing exactly what I ran and what I got.
Vpk.exe from my client csgo bin directory unpacks the left4Bots.vpk
But it doesn’t unpack the pak01_033.vpk from the CSGO DS

Unpack works on a workshop vpk
